Live broadcast
Now, live broadcast from the GEOSTAT 2012 in Münster:
freely available at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/geostat-summer-school-2012 (Erasmus Mundus Room) and http://www.ustream.tv/channel/geostat-summer-school-2012-2 (CIP-pool).
geostat landau 2011 broadcast:
All streams have been edited and uploaded to the internet archive and this allows anybody who missed out on the summer school to freely follow and download all lectures.
How to view the Stream?
There are two channels for parallel sessions at the following URLs:
www.ustream.tv/channel/geostat-2011
www.ustream.tv/channel/geostat-2011-session-2
You can view both at the same time if you like.
Unfortunately, in some regions of the world, Ustream adds in-stream video advertisements.
If they become too obnoxious, scroll to the very bottom of the page and switch the language to japanese, that usually prevents advertisement to come up.
The stream might have a time lag of 10 seconds and more depending on your connection.
The live channels allow you to follow the voice of presenters and see their screen as well as a small webcamera image of the presenter.
To participate in chat, you can use the browser chat to the right of the video. Note that there will only be limited support in the chat regarding questions (see below).
If you do not own a ustream account, you can change your name by typing /nick <nickname> in the chat.
You can only use nicknames that are not registered.
Alternatively you can use an IRC client (e.g. chatzilla), the IRC server is chat1.ustream.tv
The channel names are #geostat-2011 and #geostat-2011-session-2
if you do own a Ustream account, you can log in with the irc client by typing
/pass <password>
/nick <nickname>:<password>
into the server status window of your IRC client
